OUR LAST BAPTISM

Well, Tuesday morning we wake up; I do the morning jog while my comp plays basketball then get ready for the day.  We then do our personal study.  I just could not figure out what to teach our investigator that afternoon.  My companion had no idea either.

It was hard but we decided that we would use a page in Preach My Gospel that describes some of the different feelings that the spirit will give us.  So, we wrote them down and then when we started our lesson we asked him to check the list and tell us which ones he feels he has felt.

He checked about 5 of them and said that he felt peaceful at church on Sunday. It was incredible! I was shocked and just sat there, and then we said, he had “felt it!” The spirit was so strong! Then after waiting a second we told him we know we have asked him before but this time we wanted him to know, we were Disciples of Jesus Christ and we would like to invite him to get baptized!! He said, yes!!!

He got baptized on Sunday! My second to last Sunday in this ward!  Since my companion has never had a baptism, nor knows what it is like to baptize, we had him baptize him!

I have such a huge testimony of fasting!  I have fasted for the past 3 Sundays for him and look!

I love missionary work.

The Shovels In The Garden Of Life

Hey guys!  What a week!

It was hard but it was good. I won't lie, it had its low parts although I had some great blessings as well.

This week, I've been reflecting on how well I did as a missionary.  If I have been what the Lord wanted to be. wanting to be the missionary that everyone said, "Oh, your going there for specific people that only you can convert".  I believed coming out before my mission, I'd be just this; (Alma 29:1-2), 1 "O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!  Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." missionary and seeing as I wasn't, I've been thinking if I went wrong anywhere, then I read ....verse 6 in that same chapter, "Now, seeing that I know these things, why should I desire more than to perform the work to which I have been called?", has been a big help.

This week I also realized that a big shovel, is just as important as a small shovel in a garden.  There are some things that the big shovel just can't do that only the little shovel has to do.

What a blessing to finally see that I have simply been an instrument in the Lords hands while also, becoming humble and thankful enough to be that.

Miracles this week came in the call of a less active brother from my last area, a member in my current ward, and our investigator.

While I was in my last area we spent a lot of time making letters for the less actives in the area to invite them to the BBQ party we had.  No one came.  But, we made contact with a less active brother and now he is coming back to church!  He called me this Saturday (I never got to see the fruits of this project so I had been feeling that it was just a waste of time) and said that he was so thankful for the letter and that because of the letter, he was able to come back to church.

After General Conference on Saturday, we had dinner with the ward.  After dinner, the missionary in me said, "k lets go do work" but it ended up not turning out that way. The bishop asked us to lock up so we were the last ones in the building.  As one of our ward members waited for the taxi, I felt that it was time to go, but I also felt we should stay.  During General Conference, the member had been touched, because just after a little small talk ,he told us of his less active son in another area, and asked us to have the missionaries in that area contact him.

Our investigator is progressing well.  He thinks the Book of Mormon is true, but said he didn't want to come to church when we invited him to General Conference.  After a long conversation of resolving concerns, we committed him to pray, to ask God if he should come.  As soon as we said the closing prayer, I started a fast! Its crazy!  The Lord, even though my faith was so weak, answered my prayer with,  "Will you help him to recognize his answer?' and he came to one hour yesterday!

Good Week,

It is HARD...

hey guys this week hsa been good!! we found a new investigator through our street contacting. kind of a hard situation though, cuz he has to go to military service next month. so, we have a lot we want to share. he has no christian background but we are trying.

lately life has been good, just having a hard time staying positive, etc.

also, it is hard leaving a place that you love so much and coming back to 'home' that seems honestly so foreign.
