High Mountains = Faith

Things are going good!  We currently have 8 progressing investigators.  Although, we are having a hard time finding investigators!  We do door to door contact but it doesn’t work and Korean people don’t really just say hi to people on the street.

So, the baptismal date we had, the sister got to busy. But, we were able to meet her this week and talk. I’m not sure what the future holds for her.

We found out that one of our investigators church in order to become an elder you have to pay $30,000.  This made me really appreciate my calling.  An old investigator in Seocho got baptized and I am happy. All churches here do that. Most churches here are businesses.

I just thought i would share a spiritual thought. I have been talking a lot with Elder Smith about faith, so, I thought I would share what I have been sharing with him. Here in Korea we have a hard time speaking, so I thought I would share this.  Exodus 4:10, Moses 1 and 6:27-39.
High Mountains = Faith.

Both of these men had doubts and became two of the greatest prophets ever.  They doubted themselves but after climbing great mountains of faith they were able to see the Lord.

If we think about the potential we have, we can have all those same blessings!

I love this work.

Everyday a Holiday

hey guys the week was good.  our family of three is progressing and said they want to visit our church for a tour of the meetinghouse.  mom dad thanks for the package i got it this week just in time to send it with the ward on their ward picnic!  this week i made fried pickles for elder smith out of the pickles they give you when you order a pizza(its a korean thing) it wasn’t as good as the pickles in georgia but they were close. dad the bishop’s wife in seocho gave me some more snacks this is the 2nd time. maybe if you go to anaheim again soon or know anyone there that could take him some food that would be good. we got 2 new investigators this week but everything is still in the air with them. one of them is so funny and keeps saying "everyday a holiday", which i now say if anything goes wrong. i found this quote in personal study and want to share it.
'when we are unduly impatient with an omniscient Gods timing we are really suggesting that we know what’s best.  Strange isn’t it-we who wear wrist watches seek to counsel him who oversees cosmic clocks and calendars' maxwell.  with the changes going on in my life I know that God does have a plan for all of us!

This week has been great but super hard. A lot of our appointments that we really wanted to have, canceled so we had to go to our back up plans which were good, although we still wanted to meet those investigators. Also, I have been weak all of this week, which makes missionary work a little hard. Our miracle this week; when we went to our appointment, we were not planning on asking him to be baptized although the Spirit was so strong while we were teaching our investigator that we did. He said yes! Our other baptismal date is so ready to get baptized!  We are having a hard time getting our investigators to come to church. Training is going good. Elder Smith is a great missionary and is here to work hard and do whatever it takes just to help. Our area is great! This week I found a lot of interesting things in Fourth Nephi, especially verse 15. Sharing that scripture with members has been a good experience.
Thanks for everything.

Missionary Work Is Fun!

Wow!  This week has been so great!  So, this week we tried calling a list of people that I literally have called 3 times. Well, we decided to do it again and guess what?  2 people said they wanted to meet!  1 is golden, he lived in New York and is just so ready.  Also, another guy wants to do 30/30 but he wants to do it with his whole family! (30/30 is 30 minutes of English class and 30 minutes of a lesson/discussion)  Also a new investigator we met this last week introduced us to his daughter so we are hoping to get in with the entire family! Our weakness right now is getting investigators to church, which we are trying hard but it just seems that they all have so many excuses.  We are doing good at teaching to needs but we need to help them keep their commitments of church.

Things are good!  Missionary work is fun!  We are seeing as many miracles teaching is fun and it just is a good time to be here in Korea.   Grandma has gone MIA, which I just don’t understand this is so weird. We visit her house 2 times a day and just no answer. But, I'm hoping for the best! Ha!  As you can see the work here is great!!! Stay golden!

The Chess Game

We have a baptismal date on the 17 of February.  Gma went MIA last week cuz she had a headache.  I’m training an elder smith from Kaysville he is great.  I beat our investigator in chess this week that claims to be the king of Chicago.  My comp and I are working on praying before everything and it has been good to remember my purpose more throughout the day.  A drunken guy jumped me this week while we were contacting. Thanks for this opportunity.

This Is True Happiness.

i am so excited to go and do grandpa’s baptism tomorrow!! we gave a blessing to an old lady this week too.. it reminded me of grandpa's blessing.

this week was great!  we were finally able to teach our less actives (now fully active) sister and she is golden!  her daughter begs her to come to church ever since they came to the ward Christmas party. the mom trusts us more now and not the internet, she also loves the Book of Mormon. our ward has a new mission plan, which includes allowing us to take investigators to meals with members. we took an investigator last night and the members were awesome and we now know our investigators needs!

our most progressive investigator came to church hung over yesterday, which i actually count as a huge miracle. since she wasn't feeling well, we were able to explain to her that the ward wasn't giving her pressure to be a member, but that they were just being friendly. she has 2 great fellow shippers and she says, she loves 'progressing' in her knowledge.

our new gospel doctrine class started and it was perfect to have her learn about Heavenly Father. we are excited for the news of our investigator that we 家俺d to 何乞 is getting baptized. She lives right next to our church and will come to our ward. When the sisters came into our area, we referred them to her, Elder Clawson is hoping that he can baptize her since she was one of the first people he taught and testified to.

the English class we started 3 transfers ago, is now up to 26 people and almost 1/2 are members. our ward is getting excited!  we have 2 less actives coming to church weekly and since we have found an investigator through the less actives, we are going to be focusing this month on less actives and finding more contacts through them. our focus on investigators is fellow shippers and getting them all to church so the ward can do the rest of the work.

i love missionary work!  this is true happiness!  my personal study is good and I have been able to focus more lately.  this week I found it interesting to use the commandment of the Sabbath day with the message of the restoration. training is good no complaints.

we have progressing investigators, member’s trust, and great relationships with everyone involved. it is a huge blessing to see this area progress so much!
have a good week!  i love missionary work!
